Celebrating Three Years of Anderson Advisory

This month marks the third year of existence for Anderson Advisory and I thought it might be a good time to reflect on the journey, thank my supporters and also share a bit about some of the projects I have been working on.

Firstly, who would have thought the learning curve of running a business would be so steep? The first two years were a bit of a white-knuckle ride, learning, growing and evolving. Without the support of my mentors who took time out of their busy lives to have coffee with me, to guide and challenge me and also answer my many questions, it would have been a far rockier and lonelier journey. I feel very privileged to know you and thank you from the bottom of my heart.

To My Clients:
I feel very fortunate to work with a number of businesses and individuals helping them build their profiles and influence through strategic relationships. It’s incredibly rewarding to train teams in board writing and business communications, to help others with presentation delivery and media engagement, and then see the results.

Thank you for your continued support, it is a joy and a privilege to work with you.

To My Mentors:
Thank you to the remarkable people who have been so generous with their advice, guidance and time, for the many coffees and comments, you may not even recall, but which have made a huge difference. You have challenged me and who helped me see other perspectives.

Thank you also for laying down the gauntlet from time to time too. I know what you were doing and thoroughly enjoyed the challenge.

To My Referees:
This business has grown through referrals. A huge thank you to all of the people who think of me when projects arise and for trusting me to look after your contacts. They are precious to me as well.

To My Team:
Over the last year I have been gradually putting in place a small team of casual staff and contractors. These people have been integral to the growth and success of the business. Thank you Lauren, Rose, Sophie, Alex, Kate and Fiona. You are dynamite.

And finally, thank you to my husband and parents who have encouraged, proof read, played devil's advocate and helped talk through some of the biggest challenges to find the best way forward.


To the Future:
Over the last six months I have been working away at what will eventually become a piece of software that will create profiles for individuals to be used in their future career endeavours as board directors, CEO’s, media commentators, ambassadors.

Social media has become an incredibly powerful communications channel, however for many it is a fearful place and interactions online are often fraught with danger and potential brand damage.
Also many people just don’t have the time or the skills to present themselves in the way they need to.

Not only that, but businesses are failing to encourage the brand ambassadors within and are stifling them with social media policies that don’t fit with the future of the market.

I believe we need a safe tool for companies that will allow their staff to create their profiles, become brand ambassadors and to build their networks without breaching the policies. Which is why I have created one.

We all know they are out there anyway, so why not herd the cats?

We are currently in BETA testing for this and expect to be rolling out phase one in the next month. I am also working on a business profiling version and expect to be launching that in the next few months. Please let me know if you would be interested in participating in some of the early testing.
